JOURNEYS – Mentoring Today’s Foster Youth with A Plan, A Purpose, and A Partner.

Children experiencing foster care are among our nation’s most
vulnerable young people. Many have been abused or neglected,
resulting in a multitude of emotional and developmental needs.
Because children experiencing foster care may experience
instability and frequent moves, foster children can benefit
tremendously from the attention of a mature, caring adult.

JOURNEYS is a mentoring program designed for children ages
11-17 who are currently experiencing foster care and who
need unconditional support and meaningful relationships with
adult mentors.

JOURNEYS is designed to accomplish the following key
objectives:

Connect Foster Children With Mature, Caring Adults

• Expose and Engage Foster Youth to the Arts & Sciences,
  Athletics, Recreation, and Community Service Projects
• Assist Foster Youth with Personal Plans for Educational
  Success
• Offer Life Skills Workshops that Build Self Confidence, Enhance Social Skills, and Stimulate a Strong Sense of Self Awareness
• Create Opportunities & Experiences that Shape Their Identity and Validate the Importance Foster Youth Contribute to Their Community
